Dogs are good for your emotional health
Dogs are kept as pets nowadays, although that has not always been the case. Dogs have served as guards, guides, burglar alarms, hunters, war-machines, draught animals, rodent controllers, companions and foot-warmers, as well as providers of hair and meat. All dogs are essentially the same design of animal, although their sizes and shapes vary enormously through selective breeding, and are similar to their primitive ancestors. There are about 400 breeds of dogs.
As pets, they liven up any household, reduce stress and have scientifically been proven to lower the risks of getting heart disease. Many say they can sense if you have cancer. Dogs will widen your social circle and when you walk your dog you are exercising yourself in the process.
Socializing with your dog makes you happier as well. Your dog is always happy to see you and gives back more than is given. Besides companionship and affection, your pets love and trust of you raise your sense of self worth.
